Have you ever gotten spontaneous flashbacks to your first job out of college?
I work as a Project Manager during the day. It’s not an easy job. I had to work up to it. First after college I did Reception where I got talked down to by pompous Mercedes drivers that wanted me to make bullshit printouts and smile at them while they talked down to me. I’ll be the first to admit that I am a terrible fit for Reception because I fail to put up with bullshit.
Then I did IT Support where I got screamed at by middle aged ladies because I “stole their internet”. One called the cops on the IT department because she thought we were spying on her, but it was really just that she had installed AOL IM on her desktop and didn’t recognize the new icon. I am not making this up.
Then I managed an office. Finally I got to managing projects and I’m very good at it.
After all the stuff I have done and skills Ive acquired, I still have days where a random guy in the office asks me to make copies for them. I have a great solution for that.
I need to keep one in my car… for every idiot who parks his car in an annyoing way! ;) One time I was sitting in my car in a parking lot while on the phone. A car parked next to me, I did not pay attention. When my phone call was over I wanted to get out of the car and run my errands… FAIL! The car next to me was parked in a way that did not allow me to open my door wide enough for me to get out! :-D I had climb to the other side of the car! I wish I’d had a hammer that time! ;)
HAHA! It’s funny you mention this because I am just about to post a rant about it over at Onezumiverse! :D
