Fee For All
Is it just me or does anyone else remember when ATM fees were only shockingly high at locations you expected to rip you off–like the beach or a casino? Especially when they were those funky little non-bank ATMs that were obviously run for a profit? Now you go to a regular ATM and POW!–super high fee–for just accessing your money.
We must be god damn stupid in this country to let this shit get this way. This and text message fees where both the sender *AND* the receiver pay for the message. Yet another thing Europe and the rest of the world can laugh at us about. And just to be clear, I do expect a breathing air tax at some fucking point.

Way back in the stone age when I first started using an ATM I can remember when my own bank would charge me a $5 convenience fee for each ATM use. I’m afraid to think what someone from another bank would have been charged if they mistakenly used it.
Once I went to a “No Fee” ATM. That ATM didn’t charge, but my bank did. It never even displayed on the screen. It just showed up in my bill.
I use only my bank’s ATM’s. That is how I get around it. I also don’t just go get money for lunch, though.
OMG my sister and I were just talking about an air tax yesterday! We decided they definitely would do it but first need to find a way to cut off the oxygen if you don’t pay LOL
The text messages is ridiculous in singapore you can get plans for like 10 bucks a month pay only 50 cents a day to call USA and free incoming text, after living that way for 2 months I feel like vomiting when I see American cellphone rates >(
Harknell and I are on a “Family Plan”, so for TXT, we are charged 2x for each time we text each other. WTF.
Some of them will hit you for every button you push, too… I used one a few years back that was broken, and registered “Take out other amount” as “check balance and charge a fee,” and I didn’t realize that A) it was broken and B) it was charging me for being broken until I’d lost about $10 to the damn thing. At least at the casino you can go get lunch after losing your money to an evil machine…
Oh wow that is crazy!
