Outsourcing Your Intelligence
Outsourcing has always (and will always) be a very controversial subject. The basic concept though has always existed–hire external people to do a job your own people may not be able to do, or do as cheaply. The controversial aspect (to many people) came in when the people doing the work were no longer in the United States.
There are different problems with outsourcing to another country though from a straightforward aspect–what if they suck at their job? Anyone anywhere can suck at their job, and can you imagine managing them when they live half a planet away? So what do you do then? And we all know that someone here made that decision to hire that foreign company, so they can’t be easily criticized (without possible job loss of your own to worry about).
So now you end up like Onezumi in today’s comic–and her boss is a bit too honest.

Too true…
And what’s gotten SCARY is that our most cutting edge industries, essentially technology, have just about ALL their manufacturing base overseas. Virtually every computer, RAM module, every hard drive, every bit of Consumer electronics, is manufactured overseas.
And of course, when our high tech is sent over to china to build, they see NO ethical issue with ripping off the designs and tech to churn out crappy knock-offs (iPad already copied) and appropriate the tech for their own use.

Ah yes…and you just have to LOVE tech support from New Delhi.
NOT ROTFL.
